GARC IRLP Use Policies
We ask that you abide
by the following etiquette and policies when using the IRLP node
connected to the GARC repeater system.
- Please do not
connect to lengthy nets/roundtables without prior approval from one
of the repeater operators.
-
- We do have 3
evenings per week where the system automatically connects to reflector
987 ch5 to which some other nodes also connect at that time.
(Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays between 4pm and 11pm PST) We
ask that you do not attempt to disconnect the node or make other
connect attempts during these times.
-
- We ask that if you
wish to connect the node to another system, that you first key up,
identify with your callsign and the intention to use IRLP. You
may also want to ask if the node is currently in use. Then please
unkey and wait for a response/ no response. Then you may key
and attempt to connect the node. If the node is currently
connected to another system, please try to verify that it's not in
use before disconnecting. (This is all just standard radio
etiquette used similarly in auto patch operations)
-
- How to determine
if the node is connected:
-
- When the IRLP
node is connected to another system, the curtsey tones for the
repeater change from that of a disconnected state.
-
- Disconnected
= 2 beep tones
-
- Connected
= same 2 beeps followed by a third high pitch beep tone.
-
Thanks,
GARC
